My Philosophy
express. even when you don't know where or how to start.
speak the change. societies, industries, politics, communities - everything is evolving at a rapid pace. so too must language. be fearless in inventing new ways of describing things.
let there be light. everything is funny. when dealing with serious and complicated matters, laughter is essential to getting to the crux of things and finding our way out again.
question authority. the best breaker of rules is one who knows and respects them, but then is brazen enough to innovate. i obsess over grammar, punctuation, and style guides. but ever the intrepid scribe, i digress. often.
i write. my computer processes. real creativity happens away from the keyboard. technology is a tool, not a source.

go your own way. there is an industry of cool out there, but no one corners the market on hip. if we're not chasing it, we just might influence it.
pick your time. i believe the creative process cannot be regulated nor can good work be confined between 9 and 5. i happen to produce my best while half the planet sleeps. i am okay with that.
coffee talks. real growth and creativity happen beyond where we intend it to. meetings in boardrooms can be helpful, but not always fruitful. collaboration is best over coffee.
people power. knowledge is power, apparently. i say people hold all the knowledge. so when in doubt, go to the people. there are always others who are smarter, more creative, more insightful, better placed. go get them.
